ショーの中のショー

They're a big part of what made Las Vegas great: pull-out-the-stops, bring-down-the-house shows. Production shows. Comedy shows. Concerts. Maybe even something a bit risqué. Simply put, Las Vegas shows are a category unto themselves. more...

Entertainment helped build Las Vegas' reputation as a world destination. People began to flock to the city not just to gamble, but also for the novelty that world-class entertainment brought to a cultural desert. After all, where could you see Noel Coward, Elvis Presley, and Siegfried & Roy, all in one southwest town?
Back in 1941, the El Rancho Vegas was the only resort on the Las Vegas Strip. But a galaxy of singers, dancers, comedians and vaudeville stars made waves in the entertainment industry. Soon, the intimate showroom rose to legend, and the hotel-casinos that followed copied the El Rancho's successful "star system."
Then, along came the Stardust, breaking the star policy by debuting a spectacular production show as its main attraction. El Lido de Paris was imported directly from France and was soon acclaimed by critics as a more spectacular version than the Paris original.
Following the success of Lido, the Dunes booked Minsky's Follies in 1957, the first time that topless showgirls debuted on the Las Vegas Strip. Las Vegas' racy reputation was sealed.
In the '50s and '60s, casino lounges were the epicenter of cool. Starting at 10 p.m. and running till dawn, lounges lit up the night and fueled Las Vegas' reputation as a 24-hour party town. For the cost of a drink, you could see the likes of Louis Prima, The Treniers, Don Rickles and dozens of others. The Las Vegas show deal was born.
Today, whether it's the latest Cirque show, an adults-only variety act or simply the next big thing, this much has remained the same: You're going to find a great deal on Las Vegas show tickets. And if you're looking for Las Vegas show discounts, you've clicked on the right place.
